The ABCs of Nothing if not Intentional … and this week’s Kids Co-Op Linky!
Today’s ABCs feature highlights Nothing if not Intentional, a blog on a very special journey. The blog began as a way for an amazing couple (Nate and Rachael) to document and stay connected to their missionary work in Guatemala. As their family has changed and grown they remain dedicated to their relationships in Guatemala, but the blog also shares their daily life activities as a family with 2 young girls. Make sure to check out her posts on Things to Do with a Toddler at the Beach, Tips for Flying with a Baby, and 35 Date Night ideas. So, here are …
The ABCs of
Age | 27. Nobody’s asked me that in awhile. I had to think about it for far too long. |
Beverage of Choice | Decaf iced tea |
something you’d like to Change in your Life | Lose the baby weight. I still have 15-20 pounds to go. Yikes! |
favorite Diversion | I take and edit tons of pictures of my two girls. Editing pictures is my favorite form of productive procrastination. |
Essential start of the day | While I’m still asleep in the mornings, Nate gets ready for work. Right before he leaves, he comes in and rubs my feet and prays for me. Later, I read the Bible, pray, check facebook (sad, but true) and then feed/snuggle my baby before we go down to get her big sister. |
Favorite Color | Black. I wear a lot of black. |
Favorite Game | True Colors. Have you heard of it? Nate and I also like backgammon and euchre. |
Height | 5′ 8″ |
favorite Ice Cream flavor | Kroger brand blueberry pomagranate–yum! |
Beloved piece of Jewelry | Wedding ring and anything with my girls’ names |
Kids (names & ages) | Big sister is 2 1/2 and our baby girl is 8 months |
Where do you Live | Indiana |
Favorite Movie(s) | P.S. I Love You or any other sob story–Rent, The Notebook, Marley and Me |
Nickname | I’m ‘Rachael” to everyone but my girls. Okay, so sometimes my daughter calls me “Rachael” too. I hear through the monitor, “Rachael, come heeerrreeee!!! I’m awake! I’m awake! I’m awake!” |
Occupation | SAHM |
a weird thing in your Purse/bag | Wipes–I have at least three kinds with me at all times. I may be a bit paranoid when it comes to germs. |
favorite Quote | Only one?! This one fits with my motto of “relationships over tasks” and my aversion to cleaning: The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, for children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep. |
Right or left-handed | Right. |
Siblings | One brother who’s five years younger than me. |
Time it takes to get ready | With the kids’ “help” or without? I used to wear makeup and do my hair every day. Ha! Now I’m happy when we all leave the house with our teeth brushed and clothes on. Sadly, I regularly forget my tot’s shoes, and the other day she made it out without pants. |
Unusual Fact | I visited all 50 states before I graduated high school. Now I’m working on visiting them all again with our girls! |
Best Vacation | We studied in New Zealand for a semester right after we got married. NZ is paradise. Our honeymoon in Australia wan’t bad either. 🙂 |
What makes you late | I always think I can accomplish more before we leave than I actually can! So we’ll be trying to leave, and I’ll start the laundry, wash a dish or two, or start scrubbing the floors. |
Xrays you’ve had | Do dental Xrays count? |
Yummy food that you make | My two-year-old and I like to bake. She’s an incredibly messy helper, but together we somehow manage to make lots of yummy baked goods. |
favorite Zoo animal | My children. Just kidding! Koala bears |
And now for …
