This year Honor and Henry (with lots of help from me!) made Homemade Playdough Snow to give to their friends for Christmas.
I followed this basic Playdough Recipe, but added in iridescent glitter at the end in some of the batches.
Honor really enjoyed helping me mix the playdough…
Henry enjoyed testing the first batch …
When the playdough was made, cooled, and tested … I put it into pint-sized glass canning jars. One batch fills about 2 jars. I used sparkly silver glitter scrapbook paper cut into circles for a label on the lid.
Then I put 2 google eyes, 2 small twigs (arms), 3 small beads (buttons), a scrap of ribbon (scarf), a tiny piece of red lacing (mouth), and wired 3 orange beads (nose) …
… in a small baggie and tied them onto the jar.
This way our young friends would have everything at hand to make a snowman with their playdough snow!

What a wonderful gift! Homemade play dough’s texture and malleability is so much better than store bought.
Love this! I just added this to the 25 Kid Crafted Gifts Tutorial!
