Parenting: It’s hard … and wonderful

“The days are long, but the years are short.”

“Parenting isn’t for the weak.”

“Cleaning the house while the kids are home is like shoveling when it’s still snowing!”

“Don’t you wish kids came with an instruction manual?”

“Shouldn’t parents have to have a license?”

I’ve been finding a lot of great articles on the experience of parenting lately.  Many of them were inspired by a hugely popular post … Don’t Carpe Diem from Momastery.  An article about the constant reminder to mom’s to “Enjoy every moment, they go by so fast.”   But not EVERY moment is enjoyable … not every moment is fun … not every moment can a parent be at their best.  Parents are human; they make mistakes.  Kids are human … and, well, kids.  These articles touch on the same theme:

What are your thoughts?  What are some of your best (and worst) parenting moments?  I’d love to hear from you!

  1. I refuse to shovel in the snow. I laugh at those who do. I constantly try to clean while the kids are home. Just today I couldn’t believe that within 10 minutes my floor was covered with paper, markers, pillows, toys, cheese stick wrappers… I only looked away for a minute. Just to do the dishes!
