Screen Time Punch Cards

My kids, now 5 and 8, just started their SUMMER VACATION!  We are excited about all the fun we are going to have.  And one way I’m going to make sure that we have fun this summer is to limit screen time.  It’s WAY too easy to spend hour after hour in front of a screen when our time is less structured.  That’s why I created these Screen Time Punch Cards.

The Punch Cards are filled up with things I want to make sure my kids incorporate in every day this summer.  It’s an easy way to make sure those things get done.  If the kids don’t get the tasks done … no screen time.  So, the motivation is pretty high!

I decided on six tasks do be completed each day.  If the tasks are completed, 2 hours of screen time is allowed.  Once six Punch Cards are completed one day of unlimited screen time is awarded.

The card above is how I decided to set it up for our family.  I realize what I included as the tasks and the amount of screen time won’t work, or be appropriate, for every child or family.  That’s why I also created a blank punch card too!  Make sure to adapt it to your own needs!

What a cool idea to keep kids active and productive instead of glued to the tv all summer long!
