Thanksgiving Day Cards: Watercolor Coffee Filter Turkey

I was looking for a fun and simple way to include the kids in sending out some Thanksgiving cards this year and came across this idea The Chocolate Muffin Tree’s coffee filter turkey cards.  We used cardstock paper folded in half for the card, coffee filters, water colors, markers, glue, brown paper bags (for turkey head and body), and orange paper cut into small triangles for the beaks.

First we had to paint the watercolors on the coffee filters and wait for them to dry:

I had all the pieces cut and ready for the next step (turkey body/head cut out of brown paper bags, watercolored coffee filters cut in 1/2, beaks cut out of orange paper, and cardstock folded.)

Honor was certain that the turkeys also needed some pink decoration ….Here are some our our Watercolor Coffee Filter Turkey Card creations:             And then I wrote the message on the inside …
