Craft Closet Essentials

We moved into our new house in October (2011) and along with MANY things to be excited about in our new home was a great space for a craft closet.  But with all the craziness that comes along with moving, having 2 small kids, and working part-time … I didn’t have a chance to organize it until this past week. We’ve done LOTS of home improvements over the past couple months … so it’s kinda funny that spending a couple hours and $30 on plastic storage containers to get it all organized was something that really made me feel more settled and like I had accomplished something! PlayDrMom's Craft Closet Essentials .... everything you need for crafting with kids. Great for gift ideas too! So, … What’s in there?

  • Re-purposed tackle/fastener storage container filled with small bits: google eyes, jingle bells, feathers, sequins, gems, buttons, foam pieces, beads, etc

  • Paper Tubes
  • Cardboard Boxes and pallets
  • Stickers
  • Straws
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Glitter
  • Fuzzies (pom pons)
  • Stamps and (washable) ink pads
  • Crayons
  • Scissors

  • All kinds of Washable Markers

  • Tempera Paint
  • Watercolor Paint
  • Acrylic Craft Paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Liquid Watercolor
  • “Dot Art” Paint Dabbers

  • Paper

  • Coloring and Activity Books

  • Coffee filters
  • Craft Sticks
  • Liquid Glue
  • Glue Sticks
  • Gel Glue
  • Rubber Cement
  • Craft Foam sheets and shapes
  • Felt

  • Crayola Color Dome
  • Crayola Crayon Maker
  • SpinArt machine
  • Melty/Perler Beads
  • Glue Gun

ANY of these Craft Closet Essentials are great gift ideas for kids, families, schools, and offices/agencies that help kids.  Depending on your budget and the age of the crafter you could get one item … or several and put them together in a container to make a craft kit.  Purchasing the tackle/craft/hardware box and filling it up with supplies is great way to do it!
