Heart Attack!
As I have mentioned in previous posts, we (my family) are participating in the 100 Acts of Kindness project put together by Toddler Approved. The project is challenging everyone to perform 100 Acts of Kindness between January 16th and February 14th (MLK Jr Day – Valentine’s Day!).
Each week of the project Toddler Approved gives out a new Kindness Challenge to the participants. This week’s challenge … to “heart attack” a friend. Basically, shower a person in your life with hearts to let them know how much you love them. Fun, right?
It was easy to decide who needed this “heart attack” this week. My sister has been working very long hours and under a lot of stress recently. Having her beloved niece and nephew surprise her with gifts from the heart definitely couldn’t hurt!
We decided to bake her some cookies. I choose the easy route .. “break and bake” Valentine cookies.
We did get a little fancy and roll them in sprinkles though …
Along with the cookies, the kids also did some artwork. Using a heart shaped cookie cutter and washable paint, Honor decorated a canvas with colorful hearts.
I then told Henry to write “Love” however he wanted on the canvas … And, I LOVE how it turned out!
We then decorated a bag to put her “heart attack” goodies in …
… and dropped her “Heart Attack in a Bag” off at her house so she would be surprised when she got home.
We had so much fun with this activity filled with kindness!!! And it was much appreciated. My sister called that night and said, with a giggle, “I just had a heart attack.”
