PlayDrMom turns One!
I can’t believe it’s been a year since I began this journey. I really didn’t know what to expect … but I never could have imagined what has unfolded.
I have learned so many skills while creating the blog and growing it to where it is today. I love the constant skill development that I gain from having a blog. In the year I have:
- written over 200 posts
- started a Facebook page (currently I have 400+ followers)
- got addicted to Pinterest (currently I have 20K+ followers)
- became a member of the Kid Blogger Network
- created the Kid Blogger Network Activities & Crafts Pinterest board
- helped with the Heart Project
- participated in the 100 Acts of Kindness project
- became a member of the Kids Co-Op and participate in hosting the Kids Co-Op weekly link-up each Friday
- created the ABCs of Me weekly feature that highlights my favorite bloggers
- participated in some of Tinkerlab’s Creative Challenges
- took the Playdough Pledge
- exchanged books paired with activities in the Love Books Summer Book Exchange
- participated in the Virtual Book Club for Kids
- wrote a guest post for Glittering Muffins series Kids on the Go!
Through being involved in the blogger world, I have made connections with people from all over the world. This is another reason why I love blogging. I love the support that I receive from these people, not only about blogging … but in being a creative, involved parent. They have inspired me to expand my own creativity … to develop projects and play activities for my kids AND my clients.
I also deeply enjoy being able to share my ideas. It’s a great feeling to be able to assist parents to play, create, and have better relationships with their kids. Unlike conducting therapy where quantitative feedback is difficult to measure and qualitative feedback is few and far between, with blogging I receive more immediate feedback. Here are some of my most popular posts for over the past year (as determined through amount of pins on Pinterest):
- Please Excuse Our Mess (sticker resist painting/sign)
- Candy Experiments
- Dot Dabber Dice Game
- Car Trip Busy Box
I know that my connection with my kids and my blog feed off each other … both growing and being enriched because of the relationship between the two. Most of all I believe blogging has made me a more conscious and innovative parent.
Thank you for being a part of my blogging journey and
Happy Birthday to PlayDrMom!
